When we think of street art, this would normally conjure up an image of graffiti, artists sitting on the corner of a street or even the really old-fashioned talent of painting on the pavement. However, all artists have different ideas and street art is one of those talents that require the artist to be diverse.

The London based artist known only as Slinkachu, is certainly diverse in the way that art is concerned as he launches a new scheme, which is on a small scale, as the canvases that he has chosen to display his skills on are actually snails.

These snails have found their shells being painted and painted in many varying styles before being let loose on the streets of London.

It could be classed as a harmful thing to be doing but he says that no snails are harmed in this process; they just have their homes vandalised!

If the government get their way a massive data base will be built and no this is not going to be a list of names and addresses, this is going to be much more serious than that, in fact Big Brother will not be watching you, it will be monitoring your online activities.

It has been said that the government has been gradually chipping away at the freedom of the people; this may be true or may not be true it depends on your point of view. But the plan for this data base has been called a step too far for the British way of life.

Even the information commissioner has said that these plans will seriously affect the freedom of the people to go about their daily lives as they wish.

But the government claim that they need to monitor the emails, sms, browsing, searching and even online purchases of everyone in their fight against terrorism and crime.

It is hard to estimate exactly how many people think that they have been abducted by aliens! But not so long ago researchers found a document which was produced in 1993 which actually turned out to be a survey on alien abductions.

Apparently at the time there were some 3.7 million Americans who believed that they were suffering from a problem known as UFO abduction syndrome. Prof. Ted Goertzel at Rutgers University came up with a test, if they recognised four out of the five questions then they may have been abducted.

1. “Waking up paralyzed with a sense of a strange person or presence or something else in the room.”
2. “Experiencing a period of time of an hour or more, in which you were apparently lost, but you could not remember why or where you had been.”
3. “Feeling that you were actually flying through the air although you didn’t know why or how.”
4. “Seeing unusual lights or balls of light in a room without knowing what was causing them.”
5. “Finding puzzling scars on your body and neither you nor anyone else remembering how you received them or where you got them.”

Google has recently been working on their next assault on the internet, this time it is a site that can only be described as a sort of Second Life.

But unlike Second Life maybe this time it will be policed in way that makes it both interesting and useful for business and individuals, this where Second Life has maybe fallen down slightly over the past few years.

However Lively.com is not the finished article by a long way, although having taken a quick look the site offers very similar things to Second Life but at the moment is not necessarily any better. The good thing about Lively is that you know Google are behind so one the hand it will get better, but on the other it will eventually turn into a money making machine.

As soon the sun appears in the summer sky that piece of footwear known as the flip flop also begins to appear on the feet of almost anyone these days. But although the flip flop of today is far removed from the originals the health problems remain the same.

Because of the design of these shoes, they offer virtually no support or come to think of it protection from anything that is likely to get in the way of your feet. This can result in a whole variety of foot related problems such as sprained ankles, stubbed toes and even more serious problems like tendonitis.

This is particularly so when it comes to the twenty to thirty age groups, many hospitals and doctors are reporting these problems some patients are turning up with broken heel’s and damaged toenails.

Dr. Stephanie Wu, assistant professor of surgery at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago believes that flip flops are fine in moderation, but not as a replacement for regular footwear.

If we carry on the way that we are going, that is to say using up all of our natural resources, increasing emissions and grabbing land for the production of bio fuels, then other products that we take for granted will become rarer.

One such product according to the Ghana-based Nature Conservation Research Council (NCRC) is chocolate. Around two thirds of the worlds cocoa beans come from West Africa, but the yields are falling which will cause concern for anyone who has a liking for the brown stuff.

The problem is that the farming of cocoa is not sustainable as it is a plant that grows extensively within the rain forests, but the farmers have to move on from area to area in order for the crop to grow, eventually they will run out of fresh land to cultivate and the production of cocoa will be threatened.

There is a lot to say about the film and TV industry when one old show brings out a film version of the small screen show, they all begin to follow. Before long the cinemas are looking like a giant TV listings page with familiar names heading up the casts and titles that should not really be there at all grabbing all of the media attention.

The recent launch of the Sex and the City film was such a success that other long running series have seen the light. The latest one to be thinking of returning for a big screen comeback is Friends; the TV series finished around four years ago, and should be ripe for a return.

So far the Sex and the City film is estimated to have made $300 million, which is a good enough incentive for any cast to forget the reasons why the show finished and make a comeback. Of course this rarely happens with UK series, Crossroads the Movie just doesn’t seem to have the same ring.

Pomegranate juice
Dried plums
Pumpkin seeds
Sardines
Turmeric
Canned pumpkin

But there is always the possibility that a smaller store, like a deli or something will be able to get most of these if you want them all, of course by shopping that the cost is going to rise and this just takes the whole edge off of the whole thing.

The Life hacker List.

The Bible
The Works of Ayn Rand
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values
The Stranger
The Works of George Orwell
The Works of Richard Dawkins
The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings Trilogy
Ender’s Game
Dune

Clearly some of these titles are personal choice, although the Bible could be one which bucks the trend. Naturally there are thousands of books out there, so which one would you be choosing as the book that has had a change on your life?

A new map service threatens to rival and even overtake the seriously popular Google Maps. With Google it is quite possible to home in on you target location to see what is going around it, maybe it is house that the user is wanting to buy, you can have a look at the surrounding houses and see what they are like too.

But there is one thing missing from Google, you can find a store and even go to street view to take a look at what is going on outside, but thing that you cannot do with Google is take a look inside!

With a new service Everyscape.com you not only have the features of Google, but you can also have a look around inside, this works great for retail businesses, bars and restaurants as it gives the user the opportunity to view before buying or booking up for an evening out.

The was jubilation when Google joined a national initiative of public interest, civic and industry groups to launch a campaign “Internet for Everyone” the goals of which are to make open broadband available for every American.

Google’s involvement in this only part of the company’s strategy anyhow, which means they would have been pushing this programme whether they were involved in it or not. But any scheme that has Google on their side is going to have so many advantages.

Steadily over the past few years America is actually falling behind Europe and Asia in the way that the quality of the broadband connection has developed and also access to it. If the broadband network in the US does not get up to steam fast, there are going to be some embarrassed faces around.

At last this is the travelling tool of the 21st century, a suitcase which is motorised! Naturally it is not going to be super powerful, in fact it is probably going to be seriously slow and will get on other travellers nerves as they try to push their way through the crowds as they move towards to the check in desks.

The power assisted suitcase is the idea of a small UK company called Live Luggage, and this could be set to change the whole aspect of travelling, especially as where there is a lot of walking involved like at airports etc.

But this is not a fully motorised suitcase, as there is no button to push which then powers the suitcase away. It actually works on the principle that as the suitcase gets pulled along the motors which are fixed to each wheel offer a small amount of assistance. About time too!

Just going out to the pub, wine bars or clubs can get slightly monotonous after while, seeing the same old people getting steadily drunk every weekend, so even drinkers are need of some variation to their routines.

This is probably why there are many different drinking or alcohol related games around which will add a bit of spice to the life of a party goer as if they ever needed any in the first place. Below is a list of these drinking games, some are self explanatory the others may need some research.

Case In A Day
Run The Taps At A Bar
Century Club
Brew Your Own Beer
Pub Crawl
Go To An AA Meeting
Scotch
Learn Something About Wine
Black Out Before Noon
Oktoberfest in Germany

It’s that time again, when farmers wake up in the morning and dread looking out across their fields and hope not see a crop circle in middle of one of their fields. It’s a thing that has intrigued and puzzled people for a long time.

A crop circle has been described as the most complex ever found or seen in the UK, It has been measured at being 150ft in diameter!

But more than that the design is supposed to be a coded version that represents the first ten digits of Pi! This complex crop circle can be found at an Iron Age fort located on a hill at Wroughton in Wiltshire.

Whether these are made by aliens, students or just the farmer looking for some cash when he charges entrance fee to people who want to see them, these are pretty spectacular.

But why do these eco friendly machines fail? Here are few clues:

The Segway Encourages Obesity
The Segway Is Dorky
The Segway Is Too Expensive
The Segway Can’t Go Up Stairs
The Segway Discriminates Against People With No Legs
The Segway Is Too Slow
The Segway Is Too Difficult For Us To Use

Maybe the mistake by the companies is making a single person machine, what’s wrong with a Segway for two?

It is a serious matter food, especially as these days there is much talk about the amount of food that people are eating, but really it should be the types of food that we are eating. We consider ourselves a nation that knows what it wants, but to we really get what we want?

It seems that despite all of the various attempts to make us eat healthily there are products, which are banned in Europe but still widely in use in this country. It is called Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and is used in many of the products that take us back to childhood.

HVO is a very dangerous product, it has been estimated that two grams per day can increase the risk of heart disease by twenty three per cent; two grams of HVO can be found in one doughnut!

Despite how potentially dangerous this product can be it can be found in many items that are bought on a regular basis, such as Quality Street chocolates, Horlicks, Knorr stock cubes, Angel Delight dessert, Cadbury Heroes, some Nestlé and Mars confectionery, Batchelors Cup a Soups and even Haliborange Omega-3 Fish Oil capsules for children.

It would be something like a sci-fi film or book, but the day of the flying car may not be that far away. There is company named ICON who is building a small plane which has folding wings so that it can be easily parked in the garage.

The great thing about these planes is that there are some changes to the way that the pilots licence are issued, obviously this going to vary in different countries, but for small light aircraft the rules are being relaxed, so that there is less time spent on training and even the medical check has been scrapped.

With technology reaching this level, it is not going to be long before we see low flying aircraft skimming over the roofs of houses and pulling up in the drives of house in small specially built cul de sacs.

Naturally there is an element of cost, and also the running costs of plane, but with so many celebrities earning so much money, it is these people who will be leaving the roads for air!

A television set made in 1957 that receives digital TV sounds rather suspicious! Well so it should because clearly a TV that in encased in a thick wooden case and sporting a seventeen inch black and white screen is not really going to be made for the digital age.

But for the owner it would have been simply too much to not watch it, just because the country is turning off the analogue signal.

The TV set belongs to Richard Howard who remembers watching it as boy! Fortunately he is a furniture restorer who went ahead and converted the TV to digital, it is believed that this TV is the oldest TV set to be converted to digital and can now receive up to twenty channels.

The threat of the credit crunch does not appeared to hit the games market, as the in the UK the first quarter of the year has seen manic buying of games in records that have been compiled by the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) and compiled by Chart-Track.

In the first quarter of the year, gamers spent a massive £418.4 million, which is a huge amount of money for the sector. The most popular platform is Nintendo with their Wii and the DS platforms; these had the top two places, with PC coming in third and the Microsoft Xbox 360 coming in at a low fourth place.

The top game for just happens to be Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, and they say that major sporting events do not have much to do on what consumers buy!
