Virgin plans trips to Australia in 45 mins

Amazing as it may seem the claim of travelling half way around the world is not a dream, it is widely believed that there is a serious possibility that Virgin Galactic will be the service that actually creates the growth cycle in the commercial development of space travel.

The plan was to take passengers up to the edge of space and back down again, it would be the ultimate adrenalin rush, but Sir Richard Branson is not a billionaire for nothing and so he realises that going up to the edge of space is fine, but it does not mean that you have to return to the same place that you took off from.

Virgin Galactic are planning a second space port in Australia, effectively this would enable a flight to take off from London and touchdown in Sydney in only forty five minutes. The same could be done for other parts of the world meaning that long haul flights would no longer be necessary saving fuel and time.
