The Pyramids to be copyrighted

In what could be a serious blow to many resorts worldwide Egypt will be passing a law that will effectively copyright the Egyptian pyramids which will mean anyone that uses the image would be liable to pay the copyright owners a royalty?

The affect could be worldwide and may affect places such as Las Vegas and in Tokyo where there are theme parks that use these images, but also there are many smaller industries that could suffer too, like the retail industry.

This will not affect artists who paint the famous landmarks as long as they are not exact reproductions, but on the other hand it has been said that thirty five million tourists visit the Luxor reproduction in Las Vegas, while only six million visited the real city of Luxor in Egypt.
