Call to boycott The Golden Compass

Spending $180 million, hiring stars like Daniel Craig & Nichole Kidman and some pretty spectacular special effects would normally result in film that more or less everyone would want to go out and see. However the film The Golden Compass, could be heading towards a clash with The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights and the American Family Association who are calling for a wide spread boycott of the film.

There are certain points from the books that make you understand where they are coming from, the story is taken from the trilogy of books “His Dark Materials” by Philip Pullman that have an anti church stance to say the least, in fact the ultimate goal is to kill God!

The books have been compared to other fantasies, like the Lion, the witch and wardrobe, and yet this trilogy appears to be more adult and less tactful, which is probably why people like it so much, after all, you only read or watch what you want to, don’t you?
