Airlines not happy with airport security
UK airports are not improving security and are just inconveniencing the air travellers, according to the International Air Transport Association, they explain that by limiting the passenger to only a single piece of hand luggage this benefits only the airport operator BAA, but as they do not run all of the UK airports and after all it was the government who brought in the changes to the hand luggage, this argument sort of falls flat
In fact BAA have spent around £20 million on installing new security lanes and have recruited over 1,400 extra staff since August 2007.
The government, who introduced the security in order to be in line with other countries, have no plans to change them. And in fact are currently running a £1.5 million advertising campaign in the media, this is to remind passengers of how they should turn up at the check in, this should mean that the passengers are processed as quickly as possible.
