Fat Tax for overweight travellers

There are calls for an Obesity Tax to be applied to passengers of flights the same way that excess baggage is handled, this would be that there is a flat weight and anyone over this weight would have to pay so much per kilo. Dr John Tickell who is an Australian nutritionist believes that if airlines are quick to charge for the odd excess kilo of baggage then this should also be applied to people who are over weight.

Clearly this is not going to go down well with many people, as it would require everyone having to stand on the scales at the check in. This is going to cause problems for staff and travellers too, apparently in the States aircrew are handing out seat belt extensions more and more, which just prove that people are getting heavier and therefore we have to move along with the times.

What seems to have kicked this off is the fact that Dr Tickell was charged a hundred dollars for his golf clubs on one flight.
