Portions out of control

Who can forget the guy who lived on a certain brand of burger for a month or so and was surprised to find that he had actually put on weight! Since then the burger places have changed their menus and stores, which is great for the burger loving public.

However it appears portion control is off the scale in other places, like the subtle coffee shops that are appearing in every little nook and cranny along the high streets. Here you can pick up a coffee and scone, fair enough you would have thought, except the fact that the scone contains a massive 600 calories, now that really “eats” into the daily amount of calories needed.

This is a sign of the times where people who lunch need to watch what they are eating every day. Otherwise these calories can really add up, in a stealth sort of way.
