Regional Airports see growth

An astonishing 98 million passengers have used the UK’s regional airports. While the five London airports see a massive 137 million passengers pass through their departure lounges.

The increase in leisure travellers is a direct result of the no frills airlines, and the top destination for leisure trips is Dublin, Edinburgh, New York, Malaga and Amsterdam, while business travellers found themselves being taken to Dublin, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Manchester.

The business traveller is taking advantage of the cheap fares and time saved, compared to using the train and other forms of transport.

Despite all of the security issues that have plague the industry the market sector is very stable at the moment.
