Road signs spoil leisure drives

It appears that some people are getting confused by road signs while going out for a nice leisurely drive, be it out of the day or visiting new areas, the fact is that there are just too many road signs. This has been highlighted by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) who claim that by having fewer road signs this would not only make the countryside look more natural, but also according to research would actually encourage safer driving.

The problem with having too many road signs is that they tend to confuse drivers that are new to that area, while local drivers just ignore them anyhow, so they really do not serve any useful purpose. In some places there can be clusters of road signs which are supposed to inform drivers about road conditions and rules, but because there are so many it is difficult to make them all out in a few seconds.
