RFU at the Leisure Industry Week Show

As regular exhibitors at the Leisure Industry Week Show, the Rugby Football Union this year will be promoting its “Go Play Rugby” initiative when the show opens at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham on 25th to 27th September.

The go play rugby scheme is a non contact version of the game, which has been developed to encourage more people to take the sport up. The scheme is believed to be the largest sporting recruitment event ever mounted by a single sports body in the UK.

The £1 million campaign will involve more than 600 clubs and organisations, as well as 130 universities and colleges; the idea is to get new players interested in the sport. In fact the target is to recruit around 6,000 extra people who can see the sport as an excellent way of getting fit and just being involved in a sport.
