TV losing out to the Internet

In online survey organised by computer giant IBM, it would appear that the humble television is losing ground fast to the Internet.

The survey which took responses from a world wide point of view found that 19% said that they have spent six hours or more on the Internet every single day, whereas only 9% stated that they spent the same amount of time watching the television.

Out of those who favoured television, it is the DVR that is the main factor, with 24% of the US people surveyed owning a DVR device, and 33% claim they watch more TV since they acquired a DVR.

On the Internet it is Online Video and Social Networking that keeps people surfing. Australians contribute more to these sites than any one else. Out of all the contributors though, it would seem that the main reason for them doing this is, recognition from their friends rather than making some extra cash.
