US dispute China’s Olympic win

As the entire world celebrates the ending of what could be described one of the most successful Olympic Games ever, there are questions being asked as to who came out on top.

If anyone would have noticed, the medals table have the three grades and a total, but this year certain countries have been gauging the league position by gold medals only. Which is ok until you look the total medals won, this tells different story.

The final medal table shows China at the top with 51 gold’s and 100 in total, but in second is the USA with 36 gold’s and a total of 110 in total. This has sparked off an argument as to who came top of the Olympic Games table.

There are some serious arguments occurring around the world, where it is being said that all medal winners should honoured not just those who won gold, in which case the table should be a different. Maybe this will be sorted out by the time the next Olympics open in 2012.
