Overweight kids could be taken into care
Council leader throughout the country are planning to take overweight children away from their parents in order to save money. This plan is being contemplated by the Local Government Association (LGA) because they fear that in four-year time, childhood obesity will become so wide spread that around a million children will be considered clinically obese.
The reasoning behind this is simply cash, the LGA are saying that in order to cater for these overweight kids, they will need to implement changes to schools, such as buying larger and stronger furniture as well as increasing the capacity of the school canteen.
The LGA has warned that the social services may be called to treat obesity in the same manner that malnourished children would be. However the government have a slight problem with this, they do not want the word “Obese” to appear anywhere in the reports, because people may find it offensive.
