Ikea to sell solar panels

The Swedish flat pack superstore Ikea has long been involved in the semi eco friendly way of life. But now they are going for it big time, as the company has invested over £36 million into the Green Tech Energy fund.

The ultimate goal for the new venture is the production and sale of solar panels, lighting and efficiency metres. The company has an excellent opportunity to bring this sort of technology to a wide range of people at affordable prices.

For a long time green tech has really only been available to those who can afford it, but with a company like Ikea getting involved they will be able to help those people who would like to live green but until now have found that items like solar panels and wind power units are out of their reach.

Ikea can be found in thirty-five countries now and claim to have over half a billion customers every year, which is a huge market for them to sell to.
