Internet for everyone
The was jubilation when Google joined a national initiative of public interest, civic and industry groups to launch a campaign “Internet for Everyone” the goals of which are to make open broadband available for every American.
Google’s involvement in this only part of the company’s strategy anyhow, which means they would have been pushing this programme whether they were involved in it or not. But any scheme that has Google on their side is going to have so many advantages.
Steadily over the past few years America is actually falling behind Europe and Asia in the way that the quality of the broadband connection has developed and also access to it. If the broadband network in the US does not get up to steam fast, there are going to be some embarrassed faces around.
