Train tickets to be simplified
Anyone who has travelled by train will know that there are so many different types of train tickets available, that at sometimes it is almost impossible for the ticket, let alone the passengers to work out what is the best ticket for a particular journey.
But help is at hand, for the government have announced that a complete overhaul of the ticketing system is in order. In fact the range of tickets is to be reduced from over seventy down to just four. This is believed to be the best way to price the train tickets so that everyone is clear on what the best prices for a certain journey will be.
However there are calls from consumer groups who are worried that the reducing of the categories will actually mean that the prices will rise as there are fewer options to choose from. Even the timetable for the changes is not completely laid out, as there are going to be some staggered changes taking place.
