Eiffel Tower to be redesigned

To celebrate the creation of Gustave Eiffel’s design that is a classic landmark in Paris, the Eiffel Tower there has been a competition in process which was open to architects who thought that they had a great way of redesigning the famous tower to celebrate the towers 120th anniversary.

With all of the plans and designs in, a winner has been finally chosen and they are Serero Architects. Their design will see the floor space on the top floor increased from 280 m2 to 580 m2, which is a huge increase considering how high the tower is and work, will have to be carried out on the existing structure.

The floor space will give all tourists a classic 360 degree angle view of the city, something that could be very spectacular indeed. The platform will be made from carbon Kevlar which is strong but light as it will need to be, the structure will be bolted to the tower for stability. However this platform will change the Paris skyline, you have to wonder what people will say.
