Gaming machines pulled out of pubs
It seems that the smoking ban in public places has not just made the smokers leave the pubs, but many of the affiliated services too. As trade drops and one thing about smokers is that they are normally drinkers too. But as they have been pushed outside they obviously take their money with them, which may have been spent on the fruit machines and other machines in the pub too.
This is the reason why Inspired Gaming who supply over eighty thousand gaming machines to these leisure outlets. With that amount of machines anyone would have thought that the company must be seeing huge takings, but this is not so in fact the company are reporting that they had originally believed that going into pubs would be a good deal, but trade has fallen and many pub closures has meant that the profit margins are lower than expected.
What’s next for this industry is anyone’s guess; it is a matter of survival in the industry that is going through many changes at the moment.
