Microsoft number one in leisure games?
You would not have thought it, but Microsoft intends to be the number one player in the leisure games market. This is not an entirely new direction, but it is a new concept to think that a company such as Microsoft see the leisure game market as such a lucrative and high status industry that they intend to conquer it.
Speaking at the E3 Game Exhibition, Marc Whitten, general manager of Microsoft Leisure Game division. Mentioned that they intend to be the leading company in the leisure game industry. And that leisure games are to play a major part in the company’s game strategy.
It is easy to see why, the leisure game market is estimated to have around 1.5 hundred million players, which is not a sector to be ignored.
The only problem with this will be that Microsoft tend to buy up competing businesses, this will stop the software being available on wider formats, which is a little annoying.
