Woman who is addicted to hoaxing

Normally what people get up to in their leisure is no business of anyone, but when it affects the emergency services over a period of some twenty fours years, then it becomes a serious matter for everyone as every time the emergency services are called out on a hoax call, it puts other peoples lives at risk if there happens to be a real emergency at the same time.

Thelma Dennis aged fifty from Wales has been making hoax calls for over twenty four years and has been prosecuted sixty times, but this has had no effect at all and she still goes ahead and makes hoax calls despite going through electric shock treatment which was supposed to have left her in serious pain every time she dialled the third nine of the 999.

However after claiming that a bomb had been planted at a local supermarket, the authorities had no choice other than to prosecute her again. But because she had undergone the shock therapy and had not offended for four years she escaped being given a prison sentence and was given a twelve month supervision order instead.
