Get the right balance between leisure and work
It is well known that we are all working longer hours these days; this can be for many reasons. Either the jobs that people do are more demanding and the hours need to be put in, otherwise the firm will find someone who will. Or they have more outgoings now and so have to work in order to keep on top of the bills. Whatever the reason, it is leisure time that suffers.
So how can the balance be redressed?
1. Decide How Much Income you Need. - Once you know how much need to live on then it’s easy to work out what you need.
2. Place a Value on Your Leisure Time. - You cannot have a relationship and work every possible hour, so is working those extra hours worth it?
3. Diminishing Returns. - This is like eating a great pizza for the first time, the second time its ok, after you have had it for a week you wish not see another one for some time.
4. Don’t work for the sake of it. - Don’t get into a rut, working for the sale of it can be unhealthy because of the pressure that you are placing on yourself.
5. Productivity not work. - Why spend ten hours at the office, when the work can be finished in eight? Just because there are hangers on, it doesn’t mean that they will be getting on.
As you can see there is much to look at, but it has to be your choice.
